Richter - about

We are pleased to introduce our newest line of joinery chisels, which is being created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of our factory in 1919, named after our founder, Mr. Václav Richter. These chisels represent our highest quality manufacturing processes combined with unique materials, heat treatment and machining to produce a joinery tool of the highest quality. Each chisel is marked with our trademark RICHTER EXTRA.

 Handles

The handles of the RICHTER chisels are made of domestic ash wood, which is known for its strength and beautiful pattern of years. Their surface is finely sanded and finally hand polished for maximum comfort when holding the chisel while working. The solid stainless steel walls prevent the wood from cracking and the leather pads cushion the shock of the mallet strikes.

Blades

The blades of RICHTER chisels are forged in the traditional way from Cr-V steel, and then cryogenically hardened to a minimum hardness of 62 HRc. Subsequent grinding and polishing ensures a mirror-like surface with very thin sides, which makes it easier to work in tight spaces such as herringbone joints. The bottom surface of the blade is manufactured with a minimum manufacturing tolerance to make any realignment of the bottom surface during initial grinding as easy as possible. The front bevel is ground to 24°. It is advisable to choose the chamfer, if any, according to the use of the chisel.

Maintenance

The blade of the chisel should always be protected by the supplied blade guard to prevent damage to the edge of the tool and also for the safety of the user. Our RICHTER wooden case is ideal for safe storage; the pocket protectors we also supply are also very practical. As with any other tool steel, the blades can corrode if they are not protected in any way. Always protect chisel blades against corrosion with oil, wax or other corrosion inhibitor.

Lifetime warranty

We offer a lifetime warranty on our products. In the event of a defect in the quality of the material, workmanship or design of the product, we provide repair or replacement free of charge. This warranty does not apply to products damaged by intent, carelessness, improper handling or when the tool is used for a purpose other than that for which it was intended.
