Air cord pattern 27

28. listopadu 2022

One of the novelties of this year is a faithful copy of the air cord pattern 27. It is one of the products that we are very happy about, because it carries a good portion of craftsmanship and also reminds us of a significant personality of our First Republic army.

The idea of introducing this weapon for the officers and sergeants of the Czechoslovak Air Force came in 1925 from General Stanislav Čeček, at that time the head of the Military Office of the President of the Republic. The reason was that the commonly used officer's sabre was not suitable for airmen.

The sabre was to be worn on all official duties and on all ceremonial occasions.

When on duty, it was to be suspended from the officer's belt by means of two straps with carabiners, and then worn under the blouse with the walking uniform. A tassel was not prescribed for the cord.

After the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the Nazi Third Reich, the cord ceased to be used. However, after the modification of the state emblem, it would still be worn as a 1940 pattern by officers and staff officers of the Slovak Air Force.

As of 1 December 1945, as part of a larger equipment modification, the sabre and cordik were abolished in the Czechoslovak Army (MNO VV No. 46 of 1 December 1945).
If you are thinking of adding this unique piece to your collection of cold weapons, you can order it here.
