CERAKOTE knife paint LEAF

Our new EDC colour LEAF with CERAKOTE finish brings new features to the knife. This is due to the fact that CERAKOTE is a coating developed by the American company NIC Industries and is therefore not a mere paint coating.

CERAKOTE ceramic-based finish is used where abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, colour fastness and corrosion resistance are required. The material is first painted and then literally "baked" at high temperature. 

During the time that this technology has been on the market, the surfaces have already been subjected to a number of tests which have proven that CERAKOTE does indeed have the properties claimed. You can see all the tests, a general overview, results and a video here.

Before we decided to offer this finish on the LIST knife to our customers, it was important for us to test especially the durability and abrasion resistance. LEAF is fitted with a kydex sheath into which the knife has to be inserted and could therefore cause abrasion to the surface of the knife.

Our engineers have addressed this with the supplier and of course we have also tested everything. The knife itself does not abrade in any way during use, only traces of the kydex from the sheath remain on the knife. However, these are easily removed with a damp cloth.

So there is no need to worry about the colour variants of LEAF knives, but feel free to order them.
