What you shouldn't miss at this year's Knife Festival

31. července 2023

This year's Knife Festival will bring a rich programme. That is why we would like to draw your attention to some of its interesting points, which might be overshadowed by the premiere of the new knife of the Football Legends edition with Vladimír Šmicer.

Although the presentation of the armed forces is always interesting at the festivities, this year we will witness a truly exclusive performance by members of the Police of the Czech Republic. For the first time in the history of the festivities, a police helicopter will fly in, from which police officers from the intervention unit will rappel and demonstrate their tactical procedure. Throughout the day, experienced police officers will be on site and ready to explain what it means to work for the Police of the Czech Republic, but also to answer questions about police equipment and the demonstrations.

Another exceptional opportunity will be the chance to take a mini-course in close combat, which will be led by top army instructor Major Roman Hippík. And since Major Hippík is not only the author of a number of military knives and bayonets, he will also give a lecture on military knives with practical demonstrations at the festivities.

By the way, his Repetitor knife was named after the Czech soldiers' mission station in the former Yugoslavia, which was hit by mortar fire on 5 August 1995, killing two of them. As part of the celebrations, you can visit a special exhibition Tango 23 - Repetitor for free at the Museum of Knife Tradition, noting that the day of the celebrations marks 28 years since the tragic event.

Car fans will also be able to see the Veterans Club exhibition. At the same time, they will also see how the firefighters deal with rescuing the injured after a car accident and how they use the new Rescue knife for this purpose.

You certainly don't have to worry about taking your children to the festivities, they certainly won't be bored. They will certainly be interested not only in the main programme, but also in the competitions specially prepared for them, performances by the Alotrium fencing group, the bouncy castle, football darts or zorbing balls.

We look forward to seeing you in Mikulášovice on Saturday, August 5, from 12:00.
