Repetitor knives auctioned off, Mikov to help war veterans
2. října 2023
The charity auction of two Repetitor military knives with the names of two fallen soldiers in the 1995 UN peacekeeping mission - Luděk Zeman and Petr Valeš - ended on Sunday evening, 1 October. Both knives were auctioned for the total amount of 95 700 CZK. Mikov will now donate the auctioned amount to help war veterans through the Wolf Poppies.
The two Repetitor military knives were on display throughout the auction in the Museum of Knifemaking Tradition, which Mikov set up in Mikulášovice. Unlike standard Repetitor knives, Mikov's technicians added authentic shrapnel from the mortar shell that caused the tragedy to their blades. In addition, the Repetitors come in a gift box with an original UN troop patch and a booklet describing the entire mission and the signatures of all the surviving participants.
For the new owners, both knives will not only be a rare collector's item, but also a valuable historical artifact. The value of the two knives is also underlined by the fact that this is only the second time Mikov has auctioned knives in this way, and he only does so on truly special occasions.
Mikov has been systematically supporting veterans as part of the War Veteran Project. Currently there are two numbered editions of knives of this project on the market commemorating the foreign missions of our army - Storm and Repetitor. Thanks to them, 380 thousand CZk have already been raised for the Military Solidarity Fund.
