Today we start shipping of limited series of UTON vz. 74 knives

We are very happy to announce that today we start shipping our new and long-awaited UTON vz. 74 knife. This exceptional piece is produced in a limited series of 500 pieces to celebrate the 230th anniversary of knifemaking in Mikulášovice. It is the result of meticulous work and efforts to revive the legendary prototype that collectors and knife enthusiasts have long longed for.

The UTON vz. 74 was originally designed for explorers, but never saw mass production. Based on several surviving prototypes and torso drawings, we decided to bring this historic knife back to life. Production was not easy-it was necessary to prepare complete technical documentation, design new production fixtures and develop detailed technological procedures. We also had to create and test moulds for the plastic sheaths and handles and replace some materials that are no longer produced. But the result is worth it.

The blade of the knife is made of high quality 420 steel, which guarantees resistance to wear even in harsh conditions. The asymmetrically ground blade back includes a hole for the sheath pin to be fitted, allowing the knife and sheath to be transformed into a wire and wire mesh cutter. The ergonomic rubber handle provides a comfortable and secure grip even in wet or slippery conditions.

The sheath is equipped with two plastic loops on the back: the upper one is used to attach the leather strap and the lower one to attach the sheath to the thigh. Inside the scabbard is a steel plate that locks the blade in place and prevents it from accidentally sliding out.

Each knife is unique due to the serial number on the root of the blade. On the other side is the "vz. 74" marking and the traditional engraved Mikov logo.
