Mikov and designer Natálie Navrátilová triumph at Designblok 2024
The international jury of the Designblok 2024 festival awarded designer Natalia Navrátilová and Mikov the first prize in the Best New Product category for the Office stationery collection. The award was presented at a gala evening on 3 October 2024 at the Lobkowicz Palace at Prague Castle.

Joint project with the Czech Red Cross earned 100 thousand crowns
A limited edition UTON knife with a red handle has brought the Czech Red Cross 100 thousand crowns, which we are sending immediately. The recent floods have shown the need for crisis preparedness and the Czech Red Cross will be able to use these funds immediately to strengthen it.
UTON, a symbol of understanding and tolerance
Our cooperation with the Czech Red Cross started several years ago and it was actually thanks to Rybička. The Red Cross chose them as small gifts for the Gold Cross of the Czech Red Cross 1st Class, which is awarded for 160 donations, and the Gift of Blood - Gift of Life plaque, which is awarded for 250 donations. The plaques are presented at a national ceremony. We approached a young art school student who designed an interesting thematic print for the plaque. And during our joint preparations with the Czech Red Cross staff, we found that we had quite a lot in common.

We spent the weekend of 14th and 15th September in Pribram at the Knives 2024 exhibition. This year the event was affected by rains and floods. The outdoor program was cancelled and for obvious reasons, fewer visitors arrived than the organizers of the 33rd edition expected. But those who did come to the exhibition encountered exactly what they expected.

DLC finish - diamond hardness
Blade finishes and coatings are becoming increasingly popular in knife manufacturing. Mikov uses two types of these coatings - Cerakote and DLC, or Diamond-Like Carbon. DLC has unique properties and is popular not only for knives, but especially in industry wherever high wear and corrosion resistance is required.
Tasting knife
Are you a gourmet? Do you love food and like to test new flavours? Is it important to you that the food you taste is as little damaged and contaminated as possible during such testing? Then you need a tasting knife with a typically long and narrow blade that allows you to easily penetrate, for example, a piece of cheese or butter. And Mikov hasn't forgotten you, of course.
Knife for military explorers - a milestone on the way to contemporary UTON
The UTON military knife is one of the most famous and popular knives that Mikov produces. Its introduction into the armament of the then Czechoslovak People's Army in the mid-1970s was the result of many years of development. During the development process, a reconnaissance knife was also tested, which, although it did not eventually make it into mass production, was in many ways superior in function and design to the UTON.
